The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) calls to recruit a Logistics Assistant  for its Secretariat

 

Background

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) is a regional network on harm reduction covering 20 countries in the MENA region. The main goal of MENAHRA is to prolong and improve the quality of life of People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) through harm reduction approach in the region. Recognizing the crucial role of the civil society in delivering health services to key populations at increased risk, MENAHRA’s key strategy focuses on strengthening the role of the civil society in implementing harm reduction interventions in the MENA region.

Purpose Description

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) with the Middle East and North Africa Network of/for People who use Drugs (MENANPUD) will present a joint activity mainly linked to community led advocacy under the title: “Harm Reduction Advocacy Training in the Middle East and North Africa Region”. This activity will introduce advocacy activities to increase/enable PWUD access to all harm reduction services including prevention, treatment (HIV and HCV medication) and care programs for people who use drugs.

Logistics Assistant Expected Outcome

The Logistics Assistant will be recruited for two full days by MENAHRA who will be responsible for procurement process of relevant base, such as preparing contracts, gathering quotations, and suppliers pre-qualifying.

He/she is also responsible for asset management, stock inventory, and with main focus on management. Moreover, he/she assists in preparing training reports related to communication, assets, and procurement.

 Responsibilities

  1. 1. The Logistics assistant will work in close collaboration with the Programs Coordinator and the financial manager under the supervision of the Executive Director.
  2. 2. Provide the MENAHRA team with daily action plan related to the training objectives and the plan of activity for the upcoming day.
  3. 3.Follow up on requests/accidents/complaints/necessary
  4. 4.Responsible for procurement procedures (contracts, quotations, appraisals of quality and price) for goods and services
  5. 5. Negotiate and follow up and maintain good relationships with the training participants.
  6. 6. Ensure proper documentation of visas, insurance, ID, travels and others.
  7. 7. Suggests and make the necessary to purchase the workshop material and delegates’ folders.

Professional Competencies:

  • A university degree from a reputable university
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of procurement processes
  • Proficiency in MS office (word, excel...)
  • Driving license
