The sexually transmitted infections are an international Health problem that concerns the world, and there are no differences between the ages, the nationalities and the races. The level of prevalence of these diseases is very high in many countries, and a failure in the diagnosis and treatment of the sexually transmitted diseases in its early stages may lead to dangerous complications. Therefore, the early diagnosis of the sexually transmitted infections is considered one of the most important ways of treatment and prevention. In general, when the person knows he/she is infected, he/she will start the treatment and prevention process in order not to catch another infection, and will therefore protect others. All these diseases are transmitted through a non-protected sexual relation (which means without the use of a condom) with an infected person, and some diseases are transmitted through: - Using infected toilets, bed sheets, towels, or under wear. -Blood transfusion infected by the virus of HIV, the hepatitis, and the syphilis. - Vertically from the mother infected with HIV or hepatitis or syphilis to her child during pregnancy or at delivery. Since the drug users and specially the injecting drug users are one of the most exposed categories to the sexually transmitted infections, the MENAHRA Network considers highly important to insure this space on the website to achieve the required researches and verifications. |
