Welcome to MENAHRA
MENAHRA aims to develop harm reduction in the Middle East and North Africa. MENAHRA comprises three sub-regional knowledge hubs responsible for capacity building,training,advocacy and documentation, and a Network linking people working in this field.
 

Soins Infirmiers et Developpement Communautaire (SIDC) in Beirut hosts the sub-regional hub for Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Yemen and the Gulf States. The Iranian National Center on Addictions (INCAS) hosts the sub-regional hub for Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq. ArRazi Hospital in Rabat hosts the sub-regional knowledge hub for Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and possibly Libya.
 
The project is supported by the World Health Organization and International Harm Reduction Association with financial support from the Drosos Foundation.

IHRA's 20TH CONFERENCE ON HARM REDUCTION- BANGKOK, APRIL 20-23, 2009 Print E-mail

It's the 20th time that IHRA (www.ihra.net) organizes an International Conference on Harm Reduction, the location is the " Imperial Queen's Park Hotel, 199 Sukhumvit Soi 22, Bangkok 10110, Thailand", and the Conference began officially on Monday 20th of April, and will take an end on Thursday April 23, 2009.

IHRA expected to receive about 1000 delegates that are coming from 80 countries from all over the world.
The conference will permit people from several NGOs, GOs, and other networks and associations to meet and to Network and to promote the Harm Reduction Topics which will let the world visualize it and put it on the map.
MENAHRA (www.menahra.org) participated actively in this event for its second time actively
in a number of activities during the conference until present:

• Participating and introducing MENAHRA activities and proposal for the GF to the Network on Networks on HR.
• Giving a session on the Monitoring and Evaluation process that has been conducted for the MENA region.
• Posting its IEC material in one of the stands.
• Participating actively in Drug Users rights workshop and other workshops organized by other networks
• Meeting with Professor Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
• Organizing a very successful meeting with people from the MENA region; NGOs and Associations that benefitted from the MENAHRA Grant.
