The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) conducted a two-phase training on Proposal Writing and Fundraising for Civil Society Organizations and Regional Networks.
The training took place from the 24th of April to the 3rd of May, 2017 and was attended by representatives from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, and Tunisia. Ms. Rana Ibrahim facilitated the nine-days training.
The overall objective of the training was to contribute to improving the accessibility of the civil society organizations and regional networks working in the field of HIV/AIDS to funds via several channels. In addition, to serve and improve the quality of resource mobilization actions and proposals of the organizations involved.
In a speech during the closing session MENAHRA Executive Director, Mr. Elie Aaraj, said that we are going through an economically difficult period in the region, and funding opportunities are narrowing all over the world.
Mr. Aaraj also stressed that we have to think positively about how to work together to raise the voice so that everyone knows there is a problem about HIV/AIDS and about harm reduction and we should not wait for the epidemic to move.
