Menahra – Middle East Harm Reduction Association

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) hosted the Consortium of Networks of People Who Use Drugs & Harm Reduction Consortium annual face-to-face meeting and capacity building workshop in Beirut, Lebanon from 28 – 30 January 2020.

The overall objective of the training was to evaluate last year’s (2019) activities and review the 2020 work plan.

The Harm Reduction Consortium (referred to as the ‘Consortium’) exists to challenge the global war on drugs (the critical factor affecting the rights of people who use drugs), to scale-up access to harm reduction services, and to advocate for greater resources for harm reduction. Under the auspices of a three-year grant from the Robert Carr Fund, the Consortium comprises seven of the leading international and regional harm reduction, drug policy and drug user networks:

• International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC)

• Harm Reduction International (HRI)

• Youth RISE

• Women and Harm Reduction International Network (WHRIN)

• Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA)

• Eurasian Harm Reduction Association (EHRA)

• European Network of People who Use Drugs (EuroNPUD)
