STRENGTHENING HIV RESPONSE AND ADVOCACY: “PEOPLE WHO USE DRUGS (PWUD) SERVICE NEEDS AND THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH AND AFFECTED BY HIV”

From October 3 to 5, 2023, parliamentarians, decision-makers, and civil society organizations from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco came together at the Habtoor Metropolitan Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon, to address the challenges faced by key populations in the MENA region. Through comprehensive situation reviews, stakeholder engagement, and the sharing of best practices, the participants worked towards enhancing the HIV response and promoting the rights of PWUD.

These collective efforts highlight the commitment of the MENA region to address the unique challenges faced by key populations. By fostering collaboration and advocating for improved policies and legislation, the region is taking significant steps towards creating an inclusive and rights-based response to HIV/AIDS.

The success of this event in Beirut serves as a testament to the power of collaboration in affecting positive change.
