The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) is a regional civil society organization registered in Lebanon under the Presidential Decree No. 7491. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is currently the main funder of its activities, including the production and publication of the attached guide.
MENAHA is a network that promotes harm reduction in the Middle East and North Africa by working with the civil society organizations, decision makers, UN agencies, academic institutions, activists and governments.
You will find hyperlinked the Arabic “Advocacy Guide: Preventing HIV/AIDS Among Injecting Drug Users” for the region, prepared in collaboration with a number of associations, decision makers, civil society activists, as well as international and regional references and publications on advocacy.
The aim of the guide is to provide an approach based on advocacy in the harm reduction field, which allows adaption to similar cultural, economic and political circumstances. The targeted categories are the individuals, groups, institutions and organizations concerned with HIV/AIDS among people who inject drugs whose goals are to create and preserve an environment where HIV/AIDS prevention virus can be implemented effectively within this population.
We hope that this guide would be useful addition to the resources on harm reduction in the Middle East and North Africa and provide a means for collaboration in the future.
